The Montclair Fire Department provides fire protection
and services to the Township of Montclair as well as the
Borough
of Glen Ridge.
There are 87 career firefighters employed
by the Township including the Chief, two Administrators,
the Fire Prevention Bureau, the Training Bureau, and
four groups including a Battalion Chief, a Captain, four
Lieutenants,
and 14 firefighters. Each of the groups provides coverage
to the two towns in 24-hour shifts staffing a Command
Car, three Engines, and two Trucks out of four firehouses.
The
department responds to nearly 3000 fire and service
calls within
the course of a year. |
