Police Department Safety Tips to keep you and your property Safe

The Montclair Police Department would like to remind all residents of the Township to observe the following tips at all times. Help us to keep you and your property safe.

Motor Vehicles

  • When car is parked, lock windows and doors
  • Do not leave any valuables were criminals can observe them in your car
  • Take valet keys out of the owners manual
  • If parked in garage, lock vehicle and secure the garage

Residences

  • Lock all doors and windows
  • Do not leave your purse, wallet, laptops and Ipod’s out where they can be observed from a window
  • Use motion sensor lighting outside, make sure it is high enough that the bulb(s) can not be removed
  • Report any suspicious activities to the police
