Theft from a Motor Vehicle: On 10-8-07 at approximately 4:15 PM, police responded to an Orange Road residence on a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim states that he heard the car alarm to his 2005 Dodge pickup truck activate, and when he went to investigate the sound, he saw a green 4-door Nissan Maxima driving away. He then discovered his driver's side door opened, and his GPS system stolen from the interior of the vehicle. A witness on scene reports seeing a male exiting the Maxima, carrying what was believed to be a screwdriver. The male then entered the pickup truck, and exited shortly thereafter, fleeing in the Maxima. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male with shoulder-length braids, in his late teens to early twenties, and wearing dark clothing. The Maxima was later learned to have been stolen from the City of Orange. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective James Milano at 973-509-4726.
