The Township of Montclair, Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs has the following employment opportunities for the 2008 Summer Programs:

Day Camp Counselors – responsible for leading recreational programs for small groups of children between the ages of 5-12 years old.  Counselors must be at least 18 years old. Camp runs from June 30 -August 8, Monday-Friday 8:30 am-4: 30 pm. Salary range: $250-$350 per week.

Sports Camp Leaders – responsible for teaching and coaching individual sports programs for ages 9-15. Counselors must be at least 18 years old. Sports include: Baseball, Basketball, Softball, Boys & Girls Lacrosse & Girls Field Hockey, Wrestling. Monday-Friday 8:30 am-12:30 pm.; two week session per sport. Camps run from June 30– August 8; Salary range: $150-$250 per week.

Assistant Sports Camp Leader – responsible for assisting coaches in teaching specific sports skills to camper 9 yrs -15 yrs. Sports include: baseball ,basketball, softball, boys & Girls Lacrosse, Girls Field Hockey and Wrestling. Monday – Friday 9 a.m.-12 noon. 2 week sessions per week. Camp runs from June 30 – August 8. Salary Range $7.15 per  hour - $10 per hour.

Lifeguards – responsible for supervising swimmers; assist with swim lessons. Certification for lifesaving and CPR and First Aid are required. Pools are open 7 days a week, weekdays 1:00pm-8:00pm and weekends 11:00am-8:00pm. Salary range: $7.15-$10.50 per hour.  May 24 – September 1.

WSI Lifeguards – must possess proper Water Safety Instructors Certificate along with Lifeguard Training, Community First Aid and Safety and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certifications.  Duties include lifeguarding, group swimming lessons and maintaining a clean facility.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays from May 24 through September 1. $8.50-$12 per hour.

Art/Drama Instructors - responsible for implementing an Art or Drama program for campers ages 5-12. Monday – Friday 8:30am-4: 30 pm. June 30-August 8. Salary range: $350-$450 per week.

Pool Managers – Must have managerial experience and be able to work well with the public and co-workers along with possessing good leadership skills.  Duties include supervising staff, testing pool water, scheduling staff, cleaning pool filters and attending a weekly staff meeting with the Aquatics Director. Must be able to work a minimum of 35 hours per week on weekends and holidays from May 24 through September 1.  $350-$550 per week.

Cashiers – Must have previous cashiering experience, be proficient in math and be able to communicate well with the public.  Duties include handling admission fees during public swim times, answering the telephone and giving information.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays from May 24 through September 1. $7.15-$8.25 per hour.
