The Montclair Police Department has been experiencing a rash of burglaries to vehicles. The main targets of these thefts have been Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and satellite radio units. Some of the thefts have been from unlocked cars, but the majority have been break-ins with widows smashed to gain access to cars.

Residents are asked to hide their GPS and satellite radio units when they leave their cars – not only the units themselves, but the wiring, and any mounts. Owners should also wipe away tell-tale suction cup marks on their car windows.
