Montclair FPD Hosts Railway Emergency Response Safety Training |

The Montclair Fire Department was host to four days of rail operations emergency guidelines training for area emergency personnel from July 28-31at its headquarters on 1 Pine Street, Montclair. Officers from Montclair Fire and Police, the Glen Ridge Ambulance Unit, Newark Fire Department, Bloomfield Fire Department and paramedics from the Atlantic Health Care System attended one of four two-hour rail safety training sessions provided by NJ Transit Senior Training Specialist Timothy Meade.
“We feel it’s critical for emergency responders to be up on the latest regulations, guidelines and procedures of rail operations and safety,” said Fire Department Chief Kevin Allen. “The Department organized these training sessions to ensure that our officers and those from other municipalities and organizations are prepared for any railway or other transit emergency not only to protect our citizens but also themselves from danger when responding to a call.”
Over 130 officers attended the NJ Transit Emergency Response Guidelines training sessions.
