Montclair Health Department Fall 2008 Screening Programs
All screenings will be held at the Montclair Municipal Building located at
205 Claremont Avenue, and REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

September 16: Cardiac Assessment, 9-11 am
This screening will evaluate your risk for heart disease through a life style questionnaire and finger stick with immediate results for total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose. We will check your blood pressure, pulse, BMI (body mass index), and heart related counseling will be offered from staff physicians.
The fee for this screening is $20 for those under the age of 55 and $15 for 55 and older.
September 20: SMAC Blood Profile, 8- 9:30 am
The blood profile includes CBC (complete blood chemistry), blood cholesterol levels, HDL, or "good" cholesterol levels and LDL, or 'bad'' cholesterol and a coronary heart disease risk assessment. Other components of the blood such as glucose, calcium, uric acid, bilirubin, and albumin are also measured. In addition to the blood screening, there will be a blood pressure check.
The fee for this screening is $32 *Registration is required*
October 15:: Bone Density, 10-12 noon AND
October 17: Bone Density, 10-12 noon
An ultrasound of the forearm identifies women and men at risk for osteoporosis. Learn your risk factors and how to maintain bone health. Individual counseling and educational handouts provided. Registration is required.
The fee for this screening is $10 for those under the age of 55 and $8 for 55 and older.
November 17: Diabetes Screening 10-12 noon
Free Diabetes screenings with immediate results. No fasting required. Please call to register. |
