Montclair’s New Refuse Collection Program to Start June 1 |

REMINDER TO ALL RESIDENTS:
Effective Monday, June 1, 2009 Montclair's new refuse collection schedule will go into effect. (download refuse collection schedule) This new collection schedule will include changes to your collection area and collection dates. The new program will improve service to you and reduce operating costs.
Brochures with the new refuse collection schedule and map will go out to all households next month. You may download a copy of the brochure here.
Highlights of the new collection program are as follows:
- • Refuse Collection will be twice per week Collection schedule - Section I (see map below) – Monday and Thursday. Collection schedule - Section II (see map below) – Tuesday and Friday.
- • Bulk Waste Collection will be twice per month and will be curbside only Section I – First and Third Wednesday Section II – Second and Fourth Wednesday.
- • There will be no make-up days for collections that are skipped due to holidays or snow days.
- • All refuse containers must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m.
- • Reminder – all refuse containers must be rigid reusable containers no larger than 35 gallon capacity and weigh 50 pounds or less.
- • Saturday Bulk Waste Drop-off in the summer is eliminated. Only curbside service will be provided.
- • Refuse and Recycling Collection will be suspended when there are 3-inches of snow on the ground at 6:00 in the morning. Collection will resume on the next scheduled collection day.
- • Aside from the suspension of Recycling Collection during snow storms there will be no changes to the recycling collection schedule or areas.
- • Please disregard the Township Planner schedule after June 1, 2009.
Please note:
Bloomfield Avenue (Both Sides) are in Section II
Park Street - Houses Numbered 251 Park Street and higher are in Section II
Watchung Avenue - Houses Numbered 107 Watchung Avenue and higher are in Section II.
