Pay-on-Foot station in Bay Street Parking Deck

The Bay Street Station Parking Deck will soon have a state-of-the-art Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) – a comprehensive parking technology solution that will provide a user-friendly, efficient, and expedient parking experience. The switchover to PARCS will take place on Monday, December 1. Parking management will begin issuing new hangtags for monthly customers in the third week of November.

Montclair Pop Warner Jr Pee Wee and Pee Wee teams Crowned 2014 NJPW Champions PDF Print E-mail

The Montclair Recreation Pop Warner Jr Pee Wee and Pee Wee football teams took North Jersey Division 2 titles last Sunday in Elizabeth High School’s Williams Field. Both teams will now move on to the first round of the Eastern Regional tournament to vie for a chance to advance to the National Championship at Disney World in Orlando, FL this December.

The Bulldogs Jr Pee Wees (ages 8-11) 10-0 continued a storybook season by defeating the Linden Tigers 9-0 for the championship. The locals knew going into the game that things will become tougher for the team by advancing to the title game -- a great deal of pressure on a young but relentless squad.

John Herrmann Named New Fire Chief PDF Print E-mail

Outgoing Township Manager Marc Dashield appointed Deputy Fire Chief John Herrmann as Montclair’s new Fire Chief. Hermann, who has served the department for 33 years, will be sworn in to the position later this month.

“After an extensive review of several candidates for the position, Deputy Chief Hermann stood out as someone with outstanding leadership abilities and I am certain Montclair will be well-served with John at the helm,” said Township Manager Dashield.“

Fall Bagged Leaf Collection Program PDF Print E-mail

The Fall 2014 bagged leaf collection program will run from approximately October 15 to December 19 unless extended at the discretion of the Director of Community Services. As with previous years' programs, highlights of the bagged leaf collection program include the following:

• All leaves must be placed at the curb in biodegradable paper bags.

• Leaves placed in plastic bags of any type will not be collected.

• Leaves must be free of miscellaneous debris, e.g., branches, dirt, rocks, stones, etc. Leaf bags containing these items will not be collected.
