Liberty Mutual has announced that Montclair is one of only ten cities and towns in the entire country to win $10,000 towards its 4th of July celebrations. We won because we had the greatest participation of our residents in answering their ten question American history quiz, one of only three winners in the "medium size town" category. This is an impressive achievement.

Thank you to the many residents and organizations who spread the word and to all who participated! With the help of the Montclair business community, our parade has been saved and it looks like the fireworks may be as well.

Montclair Recreation is proud to announce that four of its youth Pop Warner football players - Sam Doros, Jacob Mahaney, Keyon Washington and Gavin Cohn - made the All American National Pop Warner Little Scholars second team for maintaining a 96 percent or better GPA in the classroom while participating in a physical activity. The players competed against a record breaking number of Pop Warner Cheer/Football applicants nation-wide: over 10,000 applied.

Pop Warner will hold its Annual National Little scholars Awards ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 28-29, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia, where the Montclair players will be honored for their great achievement.
