First Day of Practice
Monday August 2, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Nishuane Park
All Players and Cheerleaders ages 5-14 are to report to Nishuane Park wearing T-shirt and shorts for fitness conditioning. All participants will go through a series of drills and fitness movements to prep for the up coming season. No experience is necessary. First time players and cheerleaders are welcome.

This process will continue EVERY DAY (Monday-Friday from august 2-13). As per pop Warner rules all participants are to perform 20 hours of conditioning prior to the start of the season.

After the two weeks of conditioning have been completed, all participants will be divided into teams for football/Cheer as per their weight and then by age. (This will be done by North Jersey Pop Warner officials on a scheduled date during the third week of August). From this point, team coaches will schedule all practices. Teams will practice 2-3 times per week at 6pm (Nishuane Field) then a game on Sundays

Game Play
Regular season will begin on Sunday August 29 and will continue through October 17. Should teams make the playoffs, post season games will begin October 23-24.

All HOME games will be held at Woodman Field located on Essex Ave/Chestnut Street (MHS) all away games will be held in Essex and Union counties. Game times will be set by division (but are subject to change) Mitey Mite (ages 7-9) 9:30am, Jr pee Wee (ages 8, 9, 10) 11am, Pee wee (ages 9, 10, 11) 1:30pm, Jr midget (ages 10, 11, 12,) 3pm

Flag Football Boys and Girls
New to this season for Montclair is the Pop Warner Flag division for ages 5-7. Teams will also begin practice on Monday August 2, 6:00 p.m. at Nishuane. After the 20 hours of conditioning teams will be formed and follow the same practice schedule as the tackle teams. Game Play: All Games will be held on Saturday mornings starting at 9:00am, at the new Pop Warner field in Roselle. Teams will follow a game schedule prepared by NJPW which will be issued the week of August 2; Game times can not be negotiated

Equipment
Football: all players will issued a Helmet, Mouth Guard Shoulder Pads and two Game Jersey’s (Blue and White) Players are to purchase their own (white) football pants with pads athletic supporter and cleats (Non Metal) soccer cleats are okay.

Flag: all players will be issued a Jersey, mouth guard and flag belts

Players are to purchase sweat pants or (white) football pants

Cheer: All players will be issued a Uniform (top and skirt) pom pons and rain coats.

Cheerleaders are to purchase their own shorts and sneakers.
