Montclair’s “It’s in Our Power” website – www.OurPowerMontclair.org” was launched earlier this afternoon, kicking off the Township's Climate Showcase Community project, headed by Environmental Affairs Officer Gray Russell. The site was designed by Philadelphia based Design for Social Impact – a creative organization that combines artistry and activism to call attention to important social issues. The site was paid for from an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant awarded the Township earlier this year.
As a Climate Showcase Community, Montclair can directly manage and reduce its energy use, leading the way to a cleaner, healthier, more efficient way of living. "It's In Our Power" is an extraordinary opportunity for residents, businesses and organizations to set goals toward reducing Montclair's carbon footprint and improve the community. If Montclair reaches its energy goals, this shared community action could serve as a national model for future energy initiatives.
Partnering with state government and the EPA, the Township pledges to provide everyone in town with hands-on assistance to cut energy bills, create a cleaner, healthier community, and protect the planet for future generations.
So visit www.OurPowerMontclair.org, sign up for your pledge of support and start making Montclair an even better place to live. IT'S IN OUR POWER!
