The Township of Montclair is now accepting tax and utility bill payments online by debit card, credit card and e-check. Earlier this year Montclair contracted for the service with Link2Gov, Corp., a subsidiary of Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) that provides electronic payment processing and e-commerce development services for federal, state, and local government agencies throughout the US. The Township also contracted for a merchant account with Paymentech LLC, a subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase Bank.
“Not only is Link2Gov a company widely used by governments throughout the country for secure online payment processing, their products easily integrate with our existing financial accounting software,” said Montclair CFO Frank Mason. “With Link2Gov and Paymentech, we're using products that are in full compliance with state and federal requirements and have a proven record of working really well with our current reporting system.”
Montclair residents may pay their tax bills using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express cards.
Utility payments may only be made using Mastercard, Discover, and American Express (Visa credit or debit cards are not accepted for utility payments).
User convenience fees are as follows:
• Visa debit card: $3.95
• All other debit and credit cards: 2.95%
• Electronic check $1.05 per transaction
