Montclair Township

Police Chief Advises No Parking on Streets

Friday, February 8, 2013

According to the National Weather Service, our area is expected to be impacted by a significant snow storm starting Friday, February 8, 2013 through midday Saturday. In response to the impending adverse weather, Chief David P. Sabagh has declared the provisions of Township Ordinance (327-25) to be in effect as of 8:00 pm this evening.

In order to ensure safe and timely snow removal and salting on both County and Township roadways, the Montclair Police Department is advising residents not to park on snow covered streets. The Montclair Township ordinance "Parking on Snow Covered Streets" (327-25) will be strictly enforced with the towing of vehicles that are deemed a hazard.

These efforts are being made to prevent parked vehicles from impeding snow removal and adding to already hazardous driving conditions. At this time a formal State of Emergency has NOT been declared, however residents are urged to exercise caution while on the roads.

Please refer to the stipulations of the Township Ordinance (327-25). As weather conditions develop, the Montclair Police Department will respond with appropriate measures with the safety of our community in mind.
