Township Office to be Closed for Memorial Day Holiday

Montclair Township municipal offices will be closed Monday, May 27 for the Memorial Day holiday. Refuse/recycling collection, senior bus and evening shuttle services are suspended.

Montclair 2013 Memorial Day Tribute

The Montclair Township Memorial Day tribute will take place Monday, May 27, at 10:00 a.m., in Edgemont Park. Due to construction work in the area of the pond, the ceremony will be held in the field near Edgemont School, accessible by Edgemont Road.

Mayor Robert Jackson will preside as Master of Ceremonies and Rev. Erik Swanson, Redeemer Church of Montclair, will deliver the invocation, the blessing of the wreaths and the benediction. This year's guest speaker will be filmmaker and digital media producer Theresa Loong, whose documentary about her Word War II veteran father, Every Day is a Holiday, was shown at the 2013 Montclair Film Festival.

Tonight's League of Women Voters candidate forum with State Senate democratic primary candidates incumbent Nia Gill and Mark Alexander will be videotaped for broadcast on Montclair TV34 at a later date. Air times will be posted. The forum will be available for viewing on Comcast and FiOS (both channel 34) as well as on the station’s video-on-demand website: http://montclair.peg.tv.

Montclair Township Opens Public Information Kiosk

Sarah Merrick uses the township information kiosk In response to the growing number of requests for public information, Montclair Township has opened a public information kiosk in the Municipal Clerk's office, located on the first floor of the municipal building at 205 Claremont Avenue. The kiosk is open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Users may search for information on township ordinances and resolutions, property taxes, zoning codes, and building permits.

The Township encourages people to utilize the kiosk rather than submit a request under the Open Public Records Act because it saves time by providing instant results.
