The Montclair Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs offers year-round recreational, athletic and cultural programs for all ages and abilities. The Department serves the interests and welfare of all residents through programs that encourage healthful and active lifestyles, provide opportunities for learning and enrichment, and help foster a sense of community. The Department strives to offer a wide variety of activities through innovative programs and cooperative ventures in order to continue building recreational opportunities, while enhancing the quality of life for Montclair residents.

Montclair Recreation Offers Pickleball for Adults PDF Print E-mail

Montclair Recreation is now offering Pickleball for adults Wednesdays and Fridays from May 13 through June 19, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Mountainside Park courts. The cost is $75 for the six-week program.

Essex Pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 23 will and remain open weekends only until June 21. All three pools (Essex, Nishuane, and Mountainside) will open on Tuesday, June 23. Essex Pool will close August 16 for the season. Nishuane and Mountainside pools will close on September 7 for the season.

Pool hours:
Monday - Friday 1:00 -- 8:00 p.m.
Weekends, holidays 11:00 a.m. -- 8:00 p.m.

Sign Your Kids Up for Play Like a Champion Football Camp PDF Print E-mail

Montclair High School head football coach John Fiore is offering a non-contact football camp for kids ages 6-14. The day camp is offered June 24-26 and again July 13-16. Sessions will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Woodman Field. An 8:30 a.m. drop-off for participants will be available. The cost of the camp is $100.

Thirteen Montclair Bulldogs Selected to National Pop Warner All-Academic Team PDF Print E-mail

Bulldogs Team MascotMontclair Recreation is proud to announce that 13 of its Pop Warner Bulldogs football players were selected to the National Pop Warner All-Academic Team for maintaining a 97 percent or better GPA in the classroom while participating in youth sports. The following Montclair players were selected from over 9,250 applicants: sixth graders, Kyle Readus and Caleb Hoffman; seventh graders Quentin Lemon, AJ Zaccareo, Jeffery Keys and Patrick Caughey; and eighth Graders Robert Bigelow, Sebastian Garda, Christian Sanchez, Jordan White, Julian Zincani Mason Woodard and Kevin Zaccareo.
