Job Title: Assistant Township Planner

Description: Performs a variety of tasks in support of the administration of the Township’s land development policies. Provides primary staff services to the Historic Preservation Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment and assistant staff services to the Planning Board. Conducts development plan reviews, project management and zoning ordinance preparation. Coordinates and attends meetings of the Zoning Board of Adjustment including preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, resolutions for bulk variance applications and annual reports. Coordinates and attends meetings of the Historic Preservation Commission, including compiling minutes, agendas and resolutions. Prepares narrative staff reports and compiles information on a variety of planning issues, including the preparation of maps, charts and tables; enforces historic preservation regulations, including establishing a routine inspection schedule and follow-up procedures for handling violations. Works under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Community Development who reviews performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures; may assume the duties of the Director in his/her absence.

Responsible for a high level of service, development, and implementation of all shelter operational objectives, including responsible animal care and effective outreach services to the community; serves as a facility spokesperson in the community.
