MFD Responds to Claremont Avenue Fire PDF Print E-mail

The Montclair Fire Department (MFD) responded to a structure fire at 192 Claremont Avenue on Saturday, July 24, at approximately 6:30 p.m. The fire began on the second floor and extended to the third, and fourth floors and to the roof area through pipe chases.

Fire Engines 1, 2, and 3 and Trucks 1 and 2 responded under the command of Battalion Chief Don Oakes.

Health Department Provides Heat Safety Information PDF Print E-mail

thermometer showing very high temperature Excessive heat is expected in our area for the next several days. The Montclair Health Department provides some heat safety information below.

Excessive heat events are dangerous and conditions can be life-threatening. Be sure that you and your family members stay cool and hydrated by drinking plenty of water. If you have air-conditioning, use it. If you do not, seek air-conditioned buildings during the heat of the day, such as public libraries and bookstores, malls, movie theaters and the Montclair Municipal Building.
