Summer employment opportunities
The Township of Montclair Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs has the following employment opportunities for the 2022 Summer Programs:
Summer Activities Counselors and Specialists
Responsible for leading recreational programs for small groups of campers ages 5-12 years old. Counselors must be at least eighteen (18) years old. Summer Activities Programs run from July 5 - August 5; hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Rate: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour.
Sports Activities Leaders
Responsible for teaching and coaching individual sports programs for children ages 7-13 years old. Sports Activities Leaders must be at least twenty-one (21) years old. Sports include: Basketball, non-contact Football, Baseball and Volleyball. Sports Camps run from July 5 - August 5 (various weeks); hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Rate: $30.00 per hour.
Lifeguards
Responsible for supervising swimmers and assisting with pool safety. Certification for lifesaving, CPR and First Aid are required. Rate: $13.50 - $16.00 per hour.
Pool Managers
Duties include supervising staff, scheduling staff, testing pool water, cleaning pool filters and attending a weekly staff meeting with the Aquatics Director. Pool Managers must be at least twenty-one (21) years old. Successful candidates must possess managerial experience and leadership skills; must be able to work well with the public and colleagues. CPR/AED/First Aid certification required. Must be able to work a minimum of 35 hours per week. Rate: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour.
• Pools are open 7 days a week, May 28th through September 5th
• Hours: 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• All pool applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays
