Civil Rights Commission

The Montclair Civil Rights Commission (CRC) serves as an advisory to the Township Council. The CRC recommends programs designed to eliminate discrimination, addresses problems involving tensions in the community and reviews the Affirmative Action Policy. We are grieving the murders of Ahmad Aubrey, Vicha Ratanapakdee, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless other black women, black men, and Asians dying due to racism.

As Commissioners of the Montclair Civil Rights Commission, we must continue fighting for substantive and procedural equality, fairness, and justice. We are all created equal, and we are patently aware, not everyone is treated with equity, respect, fairness, and justice. We support and stand next to all individuals regardless of their race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, marital status, liability for service in the Armed Forces of the United States or nationality.

We demand for REAL equality for ALL. We are charged with identifying and investigating racism with a focus and with the hope of, stopping racist conduct. Let us continue to focus on initiatives that represent, support, and promote justice for all people.
