Montclair Pools
2023 Pool Registration opens April 5th, 2023!
Essex Pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 and remain open on weekends ONLY until Sunday June 18, 2023. On Friday June 23rd, 2023 Mountainside, Nishuane, and Essex Pools will be open daily until Monday, September 4th, 2023. Essex Pool will close for the season Sunday, August 13,2023.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 12:00-8:00 p.m.
Weekends and Holidays 11:00am-8:00 p.m.
Pool Fees:
- $250 Family (2 Adults and 2+ children or a single parent with 3+ children)
- $85 Adult
- $60 Child/Youth (starting age at 2 years old) Children must be accompanied to the pool with an adult 18 and over.
- $25 Senior (ages 62 and up)
- $85 Caregiver (must be purchased with a pool membership)
- Youth (ages 13-17) can attend the pools without an adult.
Daily Passes:
- Resident Adult: $15
- Resident Child/Senior: $10
Daily passes for guests will not be permitted at the pool. All persons must be Montclair Resident pool members. Must show proof of residency upon payment for the daily passes.
Register:
Register at register.communitypass.net/montclair. Proof of residency is required for pick up.
Pool badge pick-up is in the Recreation Office, located at 205 Claremont Avenue on the first floor.
The Montclair Recreation & Cultural Affairs office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tennis
The tennis courts at Mountainside, Nishuane and Canterbury Park are open. The Rand tennis courts have been converted into our very own skate park in Montclair.
Tennis play is available from dawn to dusk at the three locations.
Montclair High School Varsity/JV tennis teams are permitted to use the courts #1-5 at Mountainside on Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. from March 6th through May 26. 2023.
Tennis Permits Now Required on Municipal Courts
Township residents will need to obtain tennis permits which will be required for play on municipal courts at Mountainside, Canterbury and Nishuane parks. Residents (ages 5-adult) may apply for a FREE tennis permit through the Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs. Proof of residency is required.
Montclair Tennis Permit holders will be allowed one (1) out-of-town guest for court play.
- All players must have their tennis permits when using the facilities.
- NO PRIVATE PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTION is permitted at any time.
- Group lessons are under the direction of the Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs.
- Court usage is limited to one hour of play.
