Animal Shelter

Consistent with the State of New Jersey's policy regarding public-facing State offices, the Township will continue to require that all employees and visitors to Township buildings wear face coverings and practice appropriate social distancing. This may, at times, require us to limit the number of people entering the building.

Our animals are awaiting loving homes and MTAS adoptable animals can be viewed on Petfinder.comor on the shelter’s Facebook page.

MTAS encourages pet owners to be proactive and have a plan in place for their pet(s) in the event the owner becomes ill and requires medical attention.

Make sure all pets are wearing proper identification, have crates and extra food or supplies on hand and have a trustworthy friend or family member on standby to take care of their pet(s) should they become ill or hospitalized.

MTAS has plans in place to ensure the animals in our care are cared for in the event of an emergency.

Thank you for your continued support during this time. You may contact us at MTAS@MontclairNJusa.org or 973-744-8600 if you have any questions or concerns.

As always, Animal Control Officers are available 24/7 by calling the Montclair Police Department non-emergency number 973-744-1234.
