On Thursday October 6th The Montclair Water Bureau will begin the replacement of the 2 inch galvanized line that runs up Highland Terrace. We estimate the job will take two weeks. The road will be closed Monday through Friday (except Columbus Day) from 8 AM to 4 PM. Please have all cars moved to Highland Ave before 8 AM. Parking Enforcement will relax parking restrictions in the area during the duration of the job.

Please be advised that Insituform Technologies, LLC will continue cleaning and televising procedures for the 2022 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project (Bid #22-07) on Monday, October 3rd, 2022. Find below Insituform’s anticipated daily construction schedule for the week of October 3, 2022, to October 7, 2022. Cleaning and televising procedures will be completed between the hours of 7 AM to 5 PM.

SEA Energy Aggregation Program

The Township Health Department was notified by the NJDOH Lab that two bats found on Garden Street (same residence) on 9/2/2022 had tested positive for the Rabies virus.

The Spotted Lanternfly “is a serious invasive pest with a healthy appetite for our plants and it can be a significant nuisance, affecting the quality of life and enjoyment of the outdoors”. Stomp It Out Montclair!

As you may be aware, the Township of Montclair (“Township”) is a member of the Sustainable Essex Alliance Energy Procurement Cooperative (“SEAEPC”) in which the following seven member municipalities collectively procure energy on behalf of their residents: Maplewood, Glen Ridge, Montclair, Verona, Livingston, South Orange and Glen Rock. The SEAEPC launched its second round program in 2020, under which it signed a contract with Energy Harbor, LLC (“Energy Harbor”). This contract has been providing participating Township residents with power supply with enhanced renewable energy content, while also providing participating residents with some savings on their electric bills, since April 2021. The current contract will be ending in September 2022 and, provided below is an update on the status of the program and next steps.
