Montclair Pool Season Extended

Nishuane and Mountainside pools’ swim seasons have been extended. The pools were scheduled to close on Monday, September 7. Below are the added dates for each pool.

Mountainside Pool will remain open on Tuesday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (weather permitting)

Nishuane Pool will be open on the following weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (weather permitting):

September 12 and September 13
September 19 and September 20

Swim sessions will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Pool Badge pick-up will begin on Thursday, July 9, in the Municipal Building parking lot, located at 205 Claremont Avenue.

Hours for badge pick-up are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Proof of residency is required for pick-up (no exceptions).

Mountainside and Nishuane Pools will open on Monday, July 13. Pool hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. Due to COVID19 regulations, pools will operate at a 50% capacity with social distancing.

All persons must be pool members. No daily passes or out of town guests will be permitted this season.

Township pool memberships will go on sale on Wednesday, July 8.

Pool members may pick up their pool key fobs beginning Wednesday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the Municipal Building located at 205 Claremont Avenue where an outdoor pick-up location will be provided in our parking lot. Proof of residency is required for pool key fob pick up. 

2020 Pool Fees have been discounted:

  • Family (2 adults and 2+ children; or 1 single parent and 3+ children) $185.00
  • Adult (18 or older) $64
  • Child/Youth $45
  • Senior $19
  • Caregiver $64 (must be attached to a family membership)

Tennis Courts are Now Open

To use the tennis courts you must follow the rules below:

1. Maintain social distancing (no closer than six feet to other player). If this does not occur, courts will be closed.

2. Singles only, no doubles play. Only two players per court.

3. Court hours: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.

4. One-hour maximum court time use. Players must vacate the court after playing if someone else is waiting. (Be sure to take all of your equipment and dispose of any trash upon exiting)

5. The tennis courts are for tennis only.

6. Players must stay on their side of the court; do not switch sides.

7. You may only use your own equipment – do not touch the fence, gate, net, etc. Use your own hand sanitizer before/after play.

8. Mark or number your tennis balls with a marker for easy identification. Only serve your own ball. If you need to return a ball from another court, use a racket or foot. Do not use your hands.

9. Do not congregate near or on the courts. In the event a line forms while waiting for courts to open, maintain 6 feet of separation.

10. Face coverings are strongly recommended prior to and after playing.

11. Players should primarily hit form the baseline and avoid net play.

12. If you or your family members have displayed any symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please stay home. If you are vulnerable or have any underlying health conditions, do not play tennis.
