MFD Responds to  Warren Place Fire

The Montclair Fire Department (MFD) received a call on August 9 at 3:51 p.m. from a resident on Warren Place reporting that one of the bedrooms in the home was on fire.

MFD units arrived at the scene and located the fire in a second-floor bedroom. Residents self-evacuated prior to the arrival of fire personnel.

The dwelling sustained damage to the second-floor bedroom water damage to the first floor, and damage to the chimney. The fire was caused by a lightning strike.

Units from Bloomfield, East Orange, and West Orange covered the Township for the duration of the incident. There were no reported civilian or MFD injuries. The last units cleared the scene at 5:30 p.m.
