MPD Chief, Detective Recognized for Opioid Awareness Efforts

Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti and Det. Michael Mickens received the 2022 Achievement Award from the Essex Health and Wellness Recovery Center during the Center’s Fifth Annual Opioid Awareness Walk which took place on October 15. The award recognizes those who have made contributions toward raising awareness of the dangers of opioids and fentanyl.

Essex Health and Wellness Recovery Center is the first Recovery Center in Essex County NJ. It is located in the Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Center at St. Michael's Hospital. The Center provides non-clinical recovery support services to individuals and their families who are struggling with substance use disorder or who have begun their road to recovery.

The Center holds an Opioid Awareness Walk every year on the third Saturday in October.
