Montclair to Commemorate 25th Anniversary of September 11
The Township of Montclair will hold its annual September 11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the 9/11 Memorial in Watchung Plaza, marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The remembrance will begin at approximately 8:45 a.m. with the placement of flowers and leis, coinciding with the time of the first attack on the World Trade Center. The formal ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m.

The program will include musical performances by the Montclair Community Band, Police and Fire Honor Guards, remarks from representatives of the Montclair Police and Fire Departments and a guest speaker, and Taps performed by Scott Frier. The ceremony will also include the laying of flowers and leis in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
The community is invited to attend and join the Township in honoring the victims and reflecting on the significance of the 25th anniversary.
