Montclair Township is dedicated to creating safer, more accessible, and inclusive streets for all users—regardless of age, ability, or mode of transportation. Guided by the Township’s Complete Streets Policy, the department promotes the design, construction, and maintenance of roadways that support walking, biking, transit use, and driving in a balanced, sustainable way.
The Complete Streets Department, together with the Complete Streets Oversight Board, ensures that transportation projects incorporate Complete Streets principles from planning through implementation across all municipal infrastructure projects. This includes coordinating with planning and engineering departments, evaluating public safety impacts, and ensuring compliance with applicable design standards.
Together we’re building a more vibrant, equitable, and connected Montclair—one street at a time.

Our Goal: Eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways by 2028.
How? Create safer roads for all users.
