Theft
September 8, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): A male subject entered Faraj Enterprise wishing to sell an Apple iPhone 16. Because he did not have the proper credentials, the employees would not approve the sale. The male party became upset and reached behind the counter, grabbing a pair of earphones. The suspect then fled east on Bloomfield Avenue. The suspect was described as a heavyset white male, 6’00” tall, with a bald head. He was last seen wearing a gray short sleeve shirt and green shorts. The earphones were valued at approximately $80.00.
September 11, 2026 (Church Street): The victim reported that he discovered his wallet was missing and believes it was stolen while he was on Church Street. A digital tracker that was in his wallet displayed that the wallet was in the area of Summer Avenue in Newark. The tracking location then updated to a location along Mayor Kenneth Gibson Blvd, in Newark.
September 12, 2026 (South Park Street): The victim reported that he had approximately $10.00 stolen from him during a dispute with another male. The two males were reportedly arguing. Afterwards, the suspect entered the victim’s backpack and removed the cash. He was described as a white male with white hair wearing jeans and a white T-shirt. He was last seen walking west on Bloomfield Avenue.
Criminal Mischief
September 8, 2026 (Prospect Avenue): The complainant reported that an unknown person broke the front left and rear right lamp units to his vehicle. The vehicle was parked overnight on the street. The damage was estimated at approximately $700.00
September 14, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): The victim reported that his vehicle was vandalized between the hours of 11:00 PM and 11:00 AM. An unknown person scratched the victim’s vehicle, possibly with a key. There was no estimate of the damage.
Arrest
September 14, 2026 (South Park Street): A 54-year-old male from West Orange was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest following a dispute on South Park Street.
