September 1, 2026 – September 8, 2026

Theft

September 4, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): The complainant reported that he dropped his wallet outside of the 7/11 convenience store. When he realized this, he returned to the area but was unable to locate it. Surveillance video shows an unknown male pick the wallet up and walk away with it in an unknown direction.

September 4, 2026 (Inwood Avenue): The complainant reported that she was sorting jewelry in her jewelry box when she discovered several pieces missing. She reported that approximately $20,000 in assorted pieces of jewelry was missing.

September 6, 2026 (Brooklawn Avenue): The complainant reported that an unknown person removed the California license plates off of his 2009 Dodge Challenger. The theft is believed to have occurred during the overnight hours.

September 8, 2026 (Claremont Avenue): A store employee reported that an unknown male entered the CVS Pharmacy at approximately 3:00 PM. He proceeded up and down the store aisles placing merchandise into his cart. He then exited the store without making payment. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a white hat, white graphic T-shirt, black shorts and black shoes. The suspect also appeared to have a sleeve tattoo on his left arm. He fled in a Toyota Sienna van with $284.00 worth of stolen goods.

Lewdness Arrest

September 6, 2026 (Claremont Avenue): Patrol responded to the 200 Block of Claremont Avenue on a report of a male following two females while exposing his genitalia. A description of the suspect was broadcast, and officers located a male matching the description. The suspect had his front zipper down upon being stopped. The suspect, a 36-year-old male from Montclair was positively identified by the victims and placed under arrest. He was charged with two counts of Lewdness.

September 8, 2026 – September 15, 2026

Theft

September 8, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): A male subject entered Faraj Enterprise wishing to sell an Apple iPhone 16. Because he did not have the proper credentials, the employees would not approve the sale. The male party became upset and reached behind the counter, grabbing a pair of earphones. The suspect then fled east on Bloomfield Avenue. The suspect was described as a heavyset white male, 6’00” tall, with a bald head. He was last seen wearing a gray short sleeve shirt and green shorts. The earphones were valued at approximately $80.00.

September 11, 2026 (Church Street): The victim reported that he discovered his wallet was missing and believes it was stolen while he was on Church Street. A digital tracker that was in his wallet displayed that the wallet was in the area of Summer Avenue in Newark. The tracking location then updated to a location along Mayor Kenneth Gibson Blvd, in Newark.

September 12, 2026 (South Park Street): The victim reported that he had approximately $10.00 stolen from him during a dispute with another male. The two males were reportedly arguing. Afterwards, the suspect entered the victim’s backpack and removed the cash. He was described as a white male with white hair wearing jeans and a white T-shirt. He was last seen walking west on Bloomfield Avenue.

Criminal Mischief

September 8, 2026 (Prospect Avenue): The complainant reported that an unknown person broke the front left and rear right lamp units to his vehicle. The vehicle was parked overnight on the street. The damage was estimated at approximately $700.00

September 14, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): The victim reported that his vehicle was vandalized between the hours of 11:00 PM and 11:00 AM. An unknown person scratched the victim’s vehicle, possibly with a key. There was no estimate of the damage.

Arrest

September 14, 2026 (South Park Street): A 54-year-old male from West Orange was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest following a dispute on South Park Street.
