A community-based inpatient resource devoted exclusively to the needs of seniors with behavioral disorders. The program provides the finest quality, short-term intervention, assessment and treatment by geriatric specialists. Its goal is to stabilize each patient so they can safely return to their residence or nursing facility.

Serving the Complex Needs of Older Patients

The Mountainside Medical Center Geriatric Psychiatry Program is designed to address the complex needs of older patients with behavioral issues, holistically treating all underlying medical conditions and determining whether medications that have been part of a patient’s regimen are actually causing or contributing to behavioral problems.

Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Care

While at Mountainside Medical Center, Geriatric Psychiatry patients receive:
