Construction Notices: Washington Avenue & Nishuane Road

Construction is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 5, on portions of Washington Avenue and Nishuane Road as part of the Township’s 2026 Road Maintenance Program. Work will include limited spot repairs of curbs and ADA curb ramps, weather permitting.

New Traffic-Calming Features on Upper Mountain Ave

New traffic-calming measures are now in place on Upper Mountain Avenue, including chicanes, speed humps and shared-use lane markings. The improvements are designed to slow vehicle speeds, reinforce the 25 mph speed limit and create a safer roadway for all users.

Commuter Lot Parking Update - Effective October 5, 2026

2026 Fall Hydrant Inspection & Flushing Program

The Montclair Water Bureau announces that it will begin the Fall Flushing of fire hydrants on dead end water mains and on streets which border a neighboring town starting Thursday October 1st, 2026. The flushing is being done during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. It will take approximately 3 weeks to complete.
