Montclair, New Jersey (June 26, 2025)Montclair is getting ready for the biggest event of the summer season: the July 4th celebrations! The festivities include the region’s largest Independence Day parade and a Festival with food trucks, music, games, and activities. This year’s Grand Marshal is the Montclair United Soccer Club. The Parade will take place on Friday, July 4th, 2025, beginning at 11am. The Festival will immediately follow the conclusion of the parade and will be held at Edgemont Park at 1pm.

“The July 4th parade is a beloved Montclair tradition” said Donato DiGeronimo, President of the Montclair Celebrates July 4th Committee. “Marching bands, local organizations and community groups all come together to make Independence Day a memorable occasion. This year we are proud to honor our Grand Marshals, Montclair United Soccer Club, for their 40 years of service to Montclair’s youth athletes.”

The Grand Marshals

For over 40 years, Montclair United Soccer Club (MUSC) has been a pillar of the Township’s youth athletics programs, serving over two thousand young people annually through town recreation, Futsal and travel programs. The coaches, managers, parent and youth volunteers, and leaders of the organization have generously dedicated their time and energy in service of the young athletes of Montclair and teach the values of sportsmanship, fair play, integrity and goodwill. MUSC organizes and facilities a TOP Soccer program that connects high school students with children with disabilities to participate in fun and empowering activities built around soccer and the organization ensures access to its programs through scholarships, better known as “Soccerships”, for families in need of financial assistance.

“Montclair United Soccer Club represents the best of our community,” said Donato DiGeronimo, Presi-dent of the Montclair Celebrates July 4th Committee. “Visit Brookdale Park on any given Saturday and you’ll see hundreds of happy kids chasing a soccer ball. The organization brings joy to so many young athletes and we are pleased to honor their decades long commitment to Montclair.”

“Montclair United Soccer Club is honored to have been selected as the 2025 Grand Marshal,” said Susanne Heubel, the parade coordinator for MUSC. “The parade is a very special celebration for many Montclair clubs, organizations and groups. It has been a joy and privilege to be a part of this tradition for many years, and we are grateful to have been included. We are proud to be a long-standing and important part of the Montclair community and would like to thank the Montclair Celebrates July 4th Committee for the privilege of serving as parade Grand Marshal this year.”

The Parade and Festival

Parade participants are the heart and soul of the event. Marching bands, floats, antique cars, senior citizens, soccer kids, PTA parents, local businesses, veterans, dancers and pranksters with squirt guns will all wind their way through the streets of Montclair. Their expressions of creativity will meet the enthusiastic cheers of their neighbors and friends.

The Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. along a 1.6-mile route traveling west on Bloomfield Avenue, north on Midland Avenue, continuing to Watchung Avenue, west to Valley Road and ending at Edgemont Park, the site of the Festival. The parade is a rain or shine event.

The Festival will begin at 1pm in Edgemont Park. This year’s event has been greatly expanded, with more food trucks, more music, and more games and activities. Kids of all ages, parents, friends and families will all find something to enjoy at the Festival.
