2026 Road Maintenance Program – Construction Notices for Washington Avenue and Nishuane Road
The Township of Montclair has issued construction notices for upcoming street improvements on Washington Avenue and Nishuane Road as part of the 2026 Road Maintenance Program. Hard copies of the notice have been delivered to property owners in the immediate vicinity.
Washington Avenue Construction Notice
Work on Washington Avenue is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 5, 2026, weather permitting.
Construction activity will take place on Washington Avenue from Franklin Place to Douglas Road and will include limited spot repairs of curbs and ADA curb ramps.
During construction, no parking will be permitted on the street during the day, and the street may be closed to traffic at various times. Residents may also experience temporary restrictions to driveway access where curb work is taking place.
Milling and paving will be performed at a later date. A separate notice will be issued to affected residents prior to the start of paving.

Nishuane Road Construction Notice
Work on Nishuane Road is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 5, 2026, weather permitting.
Construction activity will take place on Nishuane Road from Cedar Avenue to Southern Terrace and will include limited spot repairs of curbs and ADA curb ramps.
During construction, no parking will be permitted on the street during the day, and the street may be closed to traffic at various times. Residents may also experience temporary restrictions to driveway access where curb work is taking place.
Milling and paving will be performed at a later date. A separate notice will be issued to affected residents prior to the start of paving.
