Montclair Now Featured on NYU’s City Health Dashboard
The Township of Montclair is proud to announce that our community is now included in the NYU City Health Dashboard. Launched in 2018 by NYU Langone Health, the Dashboard is a free, online resource offering neighborhood-level data on more than 40 key measures related to health and the social, economic, and environmental factors that shape it. The platform currently features data from over 1,000 U.S. cities.
Earlier this year, Montclair’s Department of Health & Human Services applied to the Dashboard’s annual “Put Us on the Map Challenge,” which invites smaller municipalities to join the platform. We’re pleased to share that Montclair was selected, and our local data is now live and publicly accessible.
In addition to health outcomes, the Dashboard includes a range of indicators that influence public health, such as food insecurity, income inequality, air pollution, racial diversity, access to parks, and the percentage of children living in poverty.

Access to localized, accurate data is essential for understanding community health trends and measuring the impact of public health initiatives. Historically, smaller municipalities have faced challenges in obtaining detailed and timely health data. The City Health Dashboard addresses this gap by making high-quality, user-friendly data available to local governments and the public alike.
Montclair’s Health & Human Services Department will immediately begin to use the Dashboard to inform planning and decision-making. With clearer insights into local health conditions, the Township is better positioned to allocate resources effectively and design programs tailored to the specific needs of our residents.
