Pine Street Railroad Closure & Upgrade
On 6/17/25 a Pre-Construction meeting with NJ Transit along with the NJ Department of Transportation took place regarding the rehabilitation of the NJ Transit at-grade railroad crossing at Pine St. and they explained the following:
From Wednesday July 9th - 16th Wednesday , July 16th ( and possibly finishing on July 17th) the at-grade railroad crossing on Pine St. will be shut down for replacement. No vehicular traffic will be able to cross the tracks during this time at all.
Wednesday , July 9th-11th (Wed.- Fri.) they will be working from 9:00am - 3:00pm
Saturday - Sunday, July 12th and 13th they will be working 6:00am - 6:00pm
Monday - Wednesday, July 14th-16th they will be working 9:00am - 3:00pm
Claremont Ave. and Glenridge Ave. will be open for traffic and ambulances to travel to and from the hospital.
The Claremont Ave. railroad crossing will have a marked police car / Officer at this crossing during rush hours :
6:00am - 10 am then 3:00pm - 7:00pm
(MONDAY - FRIDAY)
This is to ensure traffic does not cross the closed Claremont Ave Railroad Gates with the enhanced traffic detours.
