Reminder: Placement Rules for Political Signs
The Township reminds residents that political signs are permitted on private property, provided they comply with local regulations designed to keep our community safe and ensure fairness for the community. Please remember the following rules when displaying political signs:
  • Location:
    • Signs must be attached to a principal building or placed at least 10 feet back from all property lines.
    • Signs may not be placed on public property, including roadsides, medians, rights-of-way, or the area between the street and sidewalk. This includes parks, areas near our train stations, and common areas like the Church Street triangle.
  • Size:
    • Political signs may not exceed four (4) square feet in total area.
    • Signs may be no more than six (6) feet high at their highest point.
  • Lighting: Political signs may not be illuminated, including with spotlights or other artificial lighting.
These rules apply equally to all political signs and help ensure visibility, traffic safety, and fairness for all residents. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our Township safe and respectful.
