Snow Cleanup Update and Town-Wide Overnight Parking Restrictions

Snow cleanup is ongoing town-wide following the recent significant snowfall. Department of Community Service (DCS) crews have transitioned from emergency plowing to a second phase of cleanup focused on clearing curb lines, intersections, and narrowed roadways by hauling away accumulated snow. This work will continue systematically until cleanup is complete.

Town-Wide Overnight Street Parking Restrictions

To allow crews to safely and efficiently complete snow removal, overnight street parking will be prohibited on all township streets during scheduled cleanup periods.

No vehicles may be parked on any street between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM on the dates listed below. Restrictions are in effect Monday night through Wednesday night during each cleanup period. Vehicles left on streets during these hours may be ticketed and towed.

Free Alternative Parking
Residents may park overnight in any municipal surface lot OR any school parking lot during the dates below. Residents can move their cars into those lots starting at 5:00 PM on the dates below, and must be removed by 6:00 AM the following morning. See below for the list of municipal lots that will have free parking available. Parking garages / decks are not included.

Snow Cleanup Schedule
The areas listed below indicate where DCS crews will be actively working during each phase. The overnight parking restriction applies town-wide, regardless of work location. Although snow cleanup is scheduled by area, overnight parking restrictions are town-wide, which gives crews the flexibility to work efficiently and address specific areas outside the scheduled zones if needed.

To reiterate, there is no overnight street parking town-wide on Monday night, Tuesday night, and Wednesday night for the dates listed below.

  • February 2–4 (Monday–Wednesday nights)
    Snow clearing area: Bloomfield Avenue and south

  • February 9–11 (Monday–Wednesday nights)
    Snow clearing area: Bloomfield Avenue to Watchung Avenue

  • February 16–18 (Monday–Wednesday nights)
    Snow clearing area: Watchung Avenue and north
