Nishuane Park Playground Renovations
The Township of Montclair is preparing to begin a major renovation of the playground at Nishuane Park, with construction anticipated to start following the close of Nishuane Pool for the season on August 16.
The project will replace and upgrade the existing playground with completely inclusive playground equipment designed to create a safer, more accessible space for children and families of all abilities.
Improvements will include new playground equipment and recycled cork safety surfacing, along with a permeable concrete paver system, entry arch, drinking fountain, new sidewalks and concrete pads, ornamental fencing, park benches and reconstructed asphalt pathways. The project also includes accessibility and infrastructure improvements throughout the area, including new ADA-accessible ramps, curbing, pavement striping, traffic signage, flexible delineators and drainage improvements. Site restoration will be completed as part of the project.
Construction is expected to take approximately three months. The Nishuane Park playground will be closed to the public for the duration of construction.
The Township appreciates residents’ patience while this work is underway and looks forward to welcoming the community to a more inclusive, accessible and improved playground upon completion.
