Spring Leaf Bag Collection Starts April 1st

The township reminds all residents that the official Spring Leaf Collection season does not begin until April 1. To keep our streets clean, prevent drainage issues, and ensure compliance with township ordinances, please adhere to the following guidelines.

 

**IMPORTANT: DO NOT SET OUT BAGS YET**
Yard waste and leaf bags should not be placed at the curb until the first week of April (on your regularly scheduled recycling day). Under Township Ordinance § 292-26, placing debris out early can result in summonses and fines.

 

**Spring Collection Schedule**
Collection Period: April 1 – April 30
Collection Day: Your regularly scheduled recycling day during this window

 

**Rules for Preparation**
  • Use Paper Bags Only: Leaves in plastic bags will not be collected
  • Keep Streets Clear: It is prohibited to rake or blow leaves into the street
  • Weight Limit: Bags must weigh no more than 50 pounds
  • Separate Waste: Keep leaves and branches separate
Paper leaf bags are available at the Department of Community Services (219 N. Fullerton Avenue).
