Workplace Fire Safety Tips for Fire Prevention Week

During Fire Prevention Week (October 4–October 10), the Montclair Fire Department reminds all Township employees to stay alert to potential fire hazards in the workplace.

Employees are encouraged to follow key safety practices, including maintaining electrical safety, keeping exits and hallways clear, reducing clutter, and using heating and office equipment responsibly.

Additional reminders include observing the no‑smoking policy, knowing evacuation routes, understanding how to use fire extinguishers, and reporting any hazards or unusual conditions to a supervisor or the Fire Marshal’s office. By staying aware and prepared, everyone helps support a safer workplace and community.
