Your input matters!

Join the Montclair Planning Board for a series of community meetings on the 2026 Master Plan Reexamination Report. Four meetings have been scheduled - one in each of Montclair's wards - to make it easier for residents to participate. However, all residents are welcome to attend any meeting, regardless of which ward they live in. Each meeting will include an overview of the report followed by an open Q&A session where residents can ask questions, share feedback, and help shape the future of Montclair. See dates and locations in the flyer below.

These public outreach meetings for the Master Plan Reexamination are being held on a weekly schedule to ensure the public engagement process is completed by early August. This timeline allows staff to compile community feedback into a report for the Planning Board in September.
The process will continue with one or more Planning Board meetings, followed by a public hearing, with the goal of adopting the Master Plan Reexamination Report in November.

Can't attend a meeting? All public outreach meetings will be recorded and posted on the Township website, allowing residents to stay informed.

A municipal Master Plan serves as the Township's long-term vision for land use, housing, transportation, parks, sustainability, economic development, and other aspects of community growth. State law requires municipalities to periodically review and reexamine the Master Plan to ensure it continues to reflect community needs, priorities, and changing conditions. Public participation is a key part of this process, helping guide planning decisions that will shape Montclair for years to come.
