Montclair Shares Results of Public Survey on NYC Bus and Rail Service

The Township's New Jersey Transit Committee (part of the Public Transportation Working Group) has released the results of its public survey on bus and rail service between Montclair and New York City. The survey, developed with input from NJ Transit, was created to better understand residents’ needs following the loss of regular DeCamp bus service and ongoing concerns about limited off-peak, weekend, and reverse-commute transit options. More than 2,300 responses were received.

The survey results have been shared with NJ Transit, along with combined results with surveys by neighboring communities, as part of ongoing discussions about expanded bus and rail service for Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, and the surrounding region. The New Jersey Transit Committee will continue working with NJ Transit, elected officials, neighboring municipalities, and community stakeholders to advocate for improved service while addressing any concerns raised by residents.
