December 9, 2025 – December 16, 2025

Motor Vehicle Crime

December 9, 2025 (Portland Place): The victim reported that she parked her 2026 Range Rover on Portland Place and walked to Midland Avenue to get her hair done. When she returned two hours later, she discovered her vehicle was gone. The vehicle contained her key fob and some Christmas presents. It was recovered the following day in Newark.

December 10, 2025 (Talbot Street): The complainant reported that he observed an individual entering his 2018 Mercedes Benz GLC in his driveway. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black knitted hat, white face mask, black hooded sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants. The complainant exited his residence and confronted the suspect, asking him what he was doing. He stated the suspect then exited the driveway and walked east on Talbot Street, towards Central Avenue.

December 13, 2025 (Elm Street): A 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from the rear of an apartment complex on Elm Street. Shattered glass was observed on the ground where the vehicle had been parked.

Theft

December 9, 2025 (Valley Road): Employees at Acme Supermarket reported that a male customer was having difficulty using the self-service checkout. After growing increasing frustrated, the male proceeded to punch the computer monitor at the customer service desk, knock over a display of gift cards and Redbull cans, shove a Redbull merchandise fridge, stomp on a Redbull can causing it to puncture, and leave the store with the items that he was attempting to pay for. He was described as a black male over 50 years old, approximately 5'8 in height, balding with grey hair, bloodshot yellow tinted eyes, wearing a black jacket.

December 10, 2025 (South Park Street): Employees at 2nd Street Clothing reported that three suspects entered the store and all started to pick items up throughout the store and act as if they were shopping. Moments later, all three suspects meet in the women's department. The female suspect began placing numerous items into her dress pants as well as inside her coat pockets. The female suspect then grabbed a pair of green shoes. All three suspects left the store without making payment. They were last seen walking on South Park Street.

Burglary

December 12, 2025 (Bloomfield Avenue): Surveillance video captured two males enter the foyer area of a Bloomfield Avenue apartment complex. The two males were able to force entry into the main area of the building by bypassing the locked door. Once inside, they proceed to the mailroom but did not leave with any items. The first suspect was described as a tall white male wearing a black hoodie with a grey hood, black joggers, white sneakers, and a white beanie. He had a camouflage backpack. The second suspect was a black male wearing a black "puffer" jacket, jeans, black sneakers, and a black beanie with a skull pattern. He had a tan backpack.

December 13, 21025 (Mission Street): An unknown suspect entered a Mission Street home and stole two packages containing a drone and miscellaneous jewelry. The suspect also took a bicycle. Surveillance video in the area shows the suspect to be a black male wearing a skull cap, black jacket, black pants, and has a gray goatee.

Arrest

December 15, 2025 (Bloomfield Avenue): A 35-year-old male from Montclair was charged with Disorderly Conduct following a disturbance on Bloomfield Avenue.

 

December 16, 2025 – December 23, 2025

Dispute

December 18, 2025 (Harrison Avenue): The complainant reported that he was exiting Campy’s Corner Convenience Store when he ran into another patron at the doorway. Words between the two men were exchanged and a physical altercation ensued. Both individuals admitted to being mutual combatants in the dispute and injuries were minor. Both parties did not wish to press charges.

Attempted Burglary

December 20, 2019 (Upper Mountain Avenue): The resident reported that he was outside in his backyard with the family dog when he noticed motion near the rear of the house. He stated that he looked up to see an individual on his rear deck attempting to open one of the three first story rear windows. The suspect then moved north from the windows to the first story rear door. While the suspect was at the rear door, the resident called out to him and began to approach him. Once the resident made contact with him, the suspect ran to Upper Mountain Avenue out of the area on foot. The suspect was described as a light skinned, possibly Hispanic male, wearing black shoes, gray pants, black "The North Face" hooded puffer jacket, gray ski mask, black gloves, with the jacket hood over his head.

December 22, 2025 (Orange Road): The resident reported that he believes that someone may have attempted to enter his home overnight through his front and side windows. He then showed the officers the windows. One window screen had a noticeable bend in it where a tool may have been used to pry it from the windowsill. The second window also had its screen removed with a noticeable tool mark bending the screen. This window had visible finger marks from gloves attempting to open it. The suspect was unable to enter the home.

Motor Vehicle Crime

December 21, 2025 (Park Avenue): The victim reported that his 2023 BMW X5 was entered during the overnight hours. The glove compartment was rummaged through, and the victim’s wallet was stolen. The victim received an alert from his bank that his credit card was used at a Sunoco station.

Suspicious Incident

December 22, 2025 (Irving Street): The resident reported that he was reviewing his surveillance system when he discovered suspicious activity early in the morning. At approximately 1:03 AM, a white sedan enters camera view facing south on Irving Street. The sedan proceeds to park directly in front of his residence and three suspects dressed in all dark clothing exited the vehicle. The suspects immediately proceed to the front of the residence and start to inspect the front windows of the residence. The suspects continue to look into the residence, before running back into the white sedan approximately one minute later. The sedan then proceeds south on Irving Street and exits camera view.

Arrest

December 18, 2025 (Valley Road): A 29-year-old male from Paterson was charged with Shoplifting from Acme Supermarket.
