Theft

March 5, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): The complainant reported that her e-bike was parked behind a Bloomfield Avenue address for approximately one week. When she went to retrieve the bike, it was gone. She described the bike as a black Amyet V9 G60 electric bicycle.

Burglary

March 6, 2026 (Clinton Avenue): At approximately 4:20 AM, Officers responded to a Clinton Avenue residence on a report of a burglary in progress. Responding officers were advised that the suspects fled the home and entered an awaiting black SUV. Officers located a black BMW with no headlights on travelling at a high rate of speed north on Clinton Avenue and then west on Union Street before losing sight of it. The suspects were able to enter the home by breaking a windowpane on a side door of the house. The resident reported that he was alerted to the burglary after hearing five loud bangs. The resident then proceeded to investigate the noise. He was on the second floor of the residence and looked down the staircase to the first floor where he observed three suspects inside of his home. All three suspects were wearing face coverings and gloves. The resident yelled for the suspects to get out of his house which caused all three of them to flee to the awaiting black SUV. The suspects stole the key fob to the resident’s 2018 Porsche but were unable to steal the car.

Arrests

March 3, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): A 35-year-old from Montclair was charged with Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct following a disturbance on Bloomfield Avenue.

March 5, 2026 (Grove Street): After an investigation into a burglary that occurred January 25, 2026 at Grove Pharmacy, Jhaquille Taylor, a 34-year-old male from Roselle, NJ was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, and Conspiracy. He was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility. The investigation is still on-going.

Shoplifting

March 11th, 2026 (Valley Road): Management of the Acme Supermarket reported a shoplifting that occurred at approximately 1630 hours. The suspect was described as a white male, wearing a blue shirt, black vest, and a tan hat. The suspect concealed various food items, valued at approximately $30.00, and exited the store without paying.

Theft

March 13th, 2026 (Gates Avenue): Victim reported that $180 worth of clothes had been stolen after the items had been delivered to an apartment complex. Surveillance footage captured the suspect taking the packages between 0100 and 0130 hours. The suspect can be described as a male, wearing a black unzipped sweater with his hood over his head, a red t-shirt, denim pants and white sneakers.

Burglary to Residence

March 13th, 2026 (Willowdale Avenue): A resident reported to the Montclair PoliceDepartment over the last several weeks, he observed an opened rear door to a residence.Upon further investigation, it was learned that the residence had been burglarized.Surveillance footage depicts three males who forced entry through the rear door of theresidence. Suspect one can be described as having a stocky build, beard, wearing a whitehooded sweatshirt, white pants, and Nike shoes. The second suspect can be described ashaving a thin build, short hair, with a beard. He was wearing a black jacket, and pants with"DRIP" written down the side. The third suspect can be described as a male with short hair,beard, and a black sweatshirt.

March 14th, 2026 (North Fullerton Avenue): At approximately 0455 hours, the homeownerreported he was awoken by the sound of banging, then glass shattering. While thehomeowner went to check on the sound of shattering glass, he observed an unknown maleinside of his kitchen, opening drawers. Once confronted, the suspect verbally threatenedthe victim and demanded "keys", in which he was unsuccessful in obtaining. Ultimately,the suspect fled into an awaiting vehicle that was parked on North Fullerton. The vehiclethen fled in the southbound direction on North Fullerton Avenue. The suspect wasdescribed as a Hispanic male, wearing all black clothing and a black mask.

Motor Vehicle Crime

March 25, 2026 (Afterglow Way): The residents reported that they were awoken by their surveillance system alerting them to movement in their driveway. Upon investigation, the residents observed what appeared to be an adult male wearing a black hooded jacket with a ski mask over his face, black pants and gloves walking up the driveway. The suspect then proceeded to enter the resident’s unsecured vehicle from the driver’s side door and rummaged through it. The residents then activated their alarm which alerted the suspect. The suspect was then seen leaving the driveway traveling east towards Parkhurst Place.

Counterfeiting

March 25, 2026 (Bloomfield Avenue): Two businesses on Bloomfield Avenue reported that an unknown male entered their stores and used a counterfeit fifty-dollar bill to make a purchase. An employee of Qahwah House reported a suspect described as a Hispanic male dressed in a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, camouflage pants, and black "Air Jordan" sneakers entered the establishment and proceeded toward the counter. The suspect ordered a pastry and paid for it with a counterfeit fifty-dollar bill. The suspect then exited the establishment and walked east on Bloomfield Avenue. Shortly thereafter, the same suspect entered Tous les Jours and bought another pastry using a fraudulent fifty-dollar bill.

Theft

March 30, 2026 (Alvin Place): An individual hired to collect used cooking oil from Hunan Taste reported that he arrived at the designated dumpster where he discovered a broken lock and approximately 80% of cooking oil was missing from a 350-gallon container. At the time of the report, it was unknown how much the stolen oil was worth.
