Councilor At-Large William Harrison

Councilor At-Large William (Bill) Harrison is an accomplished land-use and environmental attorney and longtime public servant in  New Jersey. He has lived in Montclair for 70 years and has been active in municipal governance in Montclair, notably serving as chair of the township’s Zoning Board of Adjustment for 38 years. He was elected to the Charter Study Commissin which recommended the current form of government. Prior to working for law firms for the past 20 years Harrison worked for the Department of Environmental Protection, the Pinelands Commission and the Office of Smart Growth. At the October 7, 2025 Council Meeting,  Montclair’s Township Council unanimously appointed Harrison to fill an at-large council seat that had been vacated, and he will serve until a special election in November 2026.
