New Overnight Street Parking Ordinance
The Mayor & Council have voted and passed a new Ordinance (O-25-16), which will amend Section 327 – Parking & Traffic – of the township code. The ordinance, which goes into effect on May 28, expands the number of streets that are eligible for overnight parking in Montclair. Please reference the ordinance below to see the full list of additional streets.
Residents who wish to park overnight on these streets will need to apply for an Overnight Parking Permit ("S" Permit). Residents will have to provide proof of address to confirm they live on a block where street parking is allowed. Please note that there is a limited number of spaces available; once we reach that limit, a waitlist will be created for that street.
The new S permits will be on sale on May 28th.
The monthly permit fee is $45. The "S" permit allows a resident to park their designated motor vehicle in any available space on their respective eligible street between the hours of 5:00pm - 8:00am. Residents must submit documentation showing proof of address (lease agreement and/or utility bill), in addition to their ID or driver's license.
A physical tag is not required - the permit is associated with your vehicle's license plate.
See instructions below:
1. After logging in to the Parking Portal, select "Click to Purchase" in the upper right corner.

2. On the next screen, click "Overnight On-Street" under Select Permit Type. This will show a list of available streets for overnight permits. On May 28th, the new streets listed in the ordinance below will be added to this list.

3. After selecting your street, proceed to fill out your information on the next page that comes up. The Parking Utility Office will then approve the purchase as long as spaces are available and all the proper information is submitted: proof of address with a lease or utility bill, and driver's license information.
