Boards and Commissions are standing bodies established by the Township Council. Most are established by ordinance, which outlines the purpose and duties of the various boards and commissions. There are current vacancies with several boards and commissions, including the newly re-established Arts Advisory Committee (established via Resolution R-25-103). 

Boards and Commissions are a crucial way to provide citizen input and advice to the Mayor & Council, and are a great way for residents to get involved to help make Montclair a great place to live, work, and raise a family.  As of the date of publication of this notice (May 12, 2025), the following bodies have vacancies: 

• Arts Advisory Committee
• Board of Adjustment (Zoning)
• Civil Rights Commission
• Environmental Commission
• Housing Commission
• Landlord Tenant Advisory Committee
• Montclair Early Childhood Corporation Board of Trustees
• Parks & Recreation Committee
• People with Disabilities
• Planning Board
• Rent Control Board
• Senior Citizens Advisory Committee
